Went for dinner on Mother’s Day. Restaurant wasn’t busy at all. Which made for a nice quiet dining experience. Roberto was a very attentive server and excellent to work with. The vegan Cavolfiori starter was small but good. Definitely recommend the Insalata Della Casa. The pasta bolognese was a small portion but fresh and flavorful. The Pollo Toscano was really good too and a massive portion. As was the salmon. The strawberry sorbet for desert may have been the best sorbet I’ve ever tried. The lemonade, however, was very weak. The restaurant dining room was nicely appointed and cleaned, and there were plenty of staff running around. Bathrooms were a mess. Parking is in a garage and cheap.
We tried Il Fornaio, Del Mar for our daughter’s 16th birthday and had a wonderful experience. The servers were so pleasant, drinks, food and desert were stunning. We can’t wait to go back!
The spot is great for a cozy Italian dinner with a beautiful view of the ocean. The minestrone soup was pretty tasty. The pasta was fresh and well-made. And the tiramisu was creamy and sweet. The servers were nice and professional, and the atmosphere was great! I would definitely recommend visiting this place for a nice dinner date if you’re craving some good Italian food in Del Mar area.
My wife and I were just walking around Del Mar and wanted to something to split, hungry but not super hungry. We chose this place cause we were sure they had pizza and they did! The place itself is real nice, with tons of seating. They have outside seating, indoor, seating, indoor seating with a deck which is what we were on. It was beautiful and we got to watch the sunset. The service was very good, our server was a nice guy and didn’t rush us at all. The pizza was very good, definitely a good thing to split. Prices are honestly pretty average for an italian place, especially in this location. Definitely would choose this place over North Itlia anyday. Pizza was 20 bucks, and got waters so the bill was just about 20 bucks. Overall a really good experience and we’ll be sure to be back.
Amazing restaurant with wonderful ambiance, delicious food and beautiful views! We went there for our anniversary dinner date and the staff was extremely nice, and accommodating to our needs since we had a toddler. The bruschetta was delicious, the pasta was so well made and the dessert was perfect! We had the specials dessert - the chocolate mousse and it was superb. My husband had made reservations in advance and they even decorated our table. We forgot to take a lot of pictures of the food because it looked tooo good and we started eating it right away lol. Highly highly recommend to everyone!
Beautiful ambiance and ocean view. Today went there for lunch and ordered the lamb, special Easter menu. I went back in two weeks for the wonderful experience. Bodhi is very nice and knowledgeable about the menu and appreciate her recommendations. The meatball in the appetizer is great also. Thank you and look fwd to the next time.
Always a nice evening at El Fornio. Lively with a beautiful view of Del Mar and the ocean. Classic Italian dishes: the lasagna was rich, flavorful and melt in your mouth. My husband had a pizza. He was disappointed. The crust was too thick. . The service is young but tries hard. Good wines choice.
SO good. Great pizza and salads! Highly recommend the calabrese and the Cristini pizza! Kickin old fashioned and the tiki Taormina also good choices
